Accountant II

We recently partnered with a family-owned business celebrating their 35th year in operation, with a clear strategic plan that has driven consistent growth of approximately 20% annually. The company recently expanded into a new, modern manufacturing facility located in southeast Charlotte near Matthews, NC.We are seeking an Accountant to lead and coordinate all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and accounts receivable and payable functions. This individual will play a key role in ensuring all accounting procedures align with generally accepted accounting principles while also having the opportunity to grow into a Finance Manager or Controller position over time. There is also a strong preference for someone who can take on office management and people-focused responsibilities from the outset.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESLead and manage company financial planning and budgeting processesMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial recordsMonitor and analyze monthly operating results against budgetOversee daily financial operations, including cash flow management and expense trackingProvide financial analysis and forecasting to support senior leadership decision-makingDevelop cost accounting capabilities by gaining a deep understanding of the manufacturing operationPrepare financial analyses to support contract negotiations and investment decisionsEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulationsEstablish and maintain office systems, processes, and procedures to support overall business objectivesSupport Human Resources functions, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, payroll (via external vendor), and fostering a strong company culture; this function may evolve into a dedicated role as the company growsContribute to leadership discussions and assist in shaping company policies and strategic decisionsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in AccountingStrong foundation in accounting principles and practicesExtensive experience with QuickBooksAbility to assess and interpret overall company financial health and strategyExperience with financial reporting and analysisProven ability to lead an office environment and operate autonomouslyInterest in long-term growth, with opportunity to move into senior leadership or departmental management rolesKNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTSStrong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAPExperience with automated financial and accounting reporting systemsUnderstanding of federal and state financial regulationsAbility to analyze financial data and produce reports, statements, and projectionsExperience with short- and long-term budgeting, forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysisStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teamsA genuine interest in both people and operations, balancing financial expertise with team and office leadership responsibilitiesJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k) matchingFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offSupplemental Pay:Bonus opportunitiesAnnual bonusWork Location: In person
