Staff Accountant
Join our Team as a Staff Accountant!The RoleOur Operations Finance / Reporting team is seeking an experienced, driven, and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accurate and timely financial reporting for Toyota Material Handling North America. This role is a key contributor to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and works cross-functionally to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement. In this position, you will partner with multiple departments to research, analyze, and report financial activity, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, support consolidated reporting, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. This role offers strong visibility, meaningful impact, and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative and innovative finance organization.What You’ll Be DoingSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries for accruals, deferrals, reserves, eliminations, and other accounting transactionsPerform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentationAnalyze and report on accruals and reserves, including inventory, slow-moving inventory, PTO, bonuses, and other key financial metricsPrepare and compile internal financial reports, schedules, and variance analyses for management, including month-to-date, quarter-to-date, and year-to-date resultsAssist with the preparation of consolidated financial reporting packages for the parent company, including balance sheet, income statement, intercompany reporting, and supporting schedulesConduct cash flow analysis and assist with cash flow forecasting to provide insight into the organization’s financial positionResearch and resolve accounting issues to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and other applicable accounting standardsSupport external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiriesCollaborate with internal and external partners to implement process improvements and reporting efficienciesParticipate in financial modeling and analysis related to new strategic initiatives, including reporting automation (e.g., Power BI)Lead or contribute to business process improvement initiatives aligned with continuous improvement principlesPerform special projects and other accounting duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForA Bachelor’s degree in Accounting3 + years of experience as an Accounting or Finance professionalKnowledge of accounting principles, practices, and proceduresExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsA high level of accuracy with strong attention to detailWhat Sets You ApartExperience with reporting automation or business intelligence tools specifically Power BI.Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and their application to accounting transactionsExperience preparing consolidated financial reporting packagesSAP experienceExperience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentProfessional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFAProcess-oriented mindset with experience defining and implementing improved workflowsWhere And When You’ll WorkEnjoy the best of both worlds with a hybrid schedule—collaborate in person at our Columbus, IN office.In office Monday - Wednesday, Remote Thursday and FridayTypical first shift hours with flexible start times.What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:Salary - $65,440 - $83,255 per year.
