This role contributes to end-user features and capabilities for both external customers and internal employees and may configure or customize vendor-provided packaged software to align with user requirements. Working under immediate supervision, the Software Developer I applies independent judgment to moderately complex problems, collaborates primarily within the department (with occasional external contact), and may occasionally work with confidential data. This position is ideal for an early-career developer who is eager to learn, contributes to team success, and builds a strong foundation in modern software engineering practices.Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and maintain software features and components aligned with business objectivesImplement and support user-facing functionality for internal and external applicationsConfigure and customize vendor-provided packaged software as neededIdentify, document, and resolve software defects and moderately complex technical issuesParticipate in the full software development lifecycle using agile methodologiesContribute to the development and maintenance of APIs for internal and external productsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and communicate technical conceptsMaintain technical documentation and adhere to confidentiality and security standardsQualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field2 or more years of relevant work experience in software developmentProficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, .NET, or JavaUnderstanding of software development lifecycles and agile development methodologiesExperience with agile planning tools such as Azure DevOpsBasic knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and/or NoSQLWorking knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practicesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAttention to detail with the ability to document defects and solutions accuratelyAbility to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple prioritiesWillingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirementsInsurance industry experience or knowledge of property and casualty concepts preferred but not requiredWork Authorization & Employment Status RequirementApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
