We are open 7 days a week. This is a part-time, seasonal position, and all staff must be available to work at least one weekend day as well as summer holidays.If you enjoy working outdoors, being around the water, and providing excellent guest experiences, this is a great opportunity to join our All-Star Team!JOB SUMMARYThe Dock Hand is responsible for supporting all boathouse services and operations by ensuring guest safety, maintaining dock cleanliness and organization, providing excellent customer service, and assisting guests safely in and out of boats. This role requires strong teamwork, attention to safety, and a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.Job Description:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintaining a safe environment at the boating area, following appropriate procedures and guidelines.Assist with docking of boats and safely help customers on and off rental equipment.Keep a lookout on the waterRinsing / washing rental equipmentBoathouse maintenance such as cleaning, weeding, removing trash, organizing, and ordering supplies.Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms, locker rooms, and gymProvide excellent customer service to guests, while directing customer issues to supervisor or unit manager.Provide First Aid & CPR to guests if neededIssue receipts, refunds, credit, or change due to customers accurately.Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.Assist with securing company property, boats, and equipment at opening and closing.Any other duties required or requested by your Supervisor or Manager.SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDEPartial high school education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred.Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and coworkers.Ability to recognize problems and communicate them promptly to management.Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) while on duty.CPR/First Aid Certification required (training available upon hire).Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand and move for extended periods throughout the workday.Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.Ability to lift and carry: up to 25 lbs regularly, 30-35 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs occasionallyAbility to extend arms above shoulder heightAbility to climb steps regularlyFrequently working in wet, slippery, hot, humid, and outdoor conditions.Frequent hand immersion in water.Ability to withstand temperature extremes and inclement weather.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly for safety and customer service purposes.Physical presence on-site is essential to perform job duties.EQUIPMENT USEDBoats and related equipment (lines, anchors, life jackets, binoculars, etc.)Cleaning suppliesPoint-of-sale systemTypical office equipment (computer/laptop, phone system)Safety equipment (First Aid kits, radios)Founded in 1917, Guest Services has worked tirelessly to earn the reputation as the premier hospitality management company and National Park Service concessionaire in the United States.
