DevOps Engineer

Role summary / purposeEmployees in this job function are responsible for building, testing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools for software code development, deployment, and release. They help the organization speed up and automate aspects of the software lifecycle through DevOps practices and processes.Key responsibilitiesImbibe DevOps methodology and practices across the product lifecycle for various software componentsAccelerate software releases while ensuring security and mitigating the risk of failed or recalled software releasesEnsure increase in cycle speed between feedback from end-user to an updated software by leveraging continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous feedbackAssess current systems and processes and identify and implement ways to improve themUtilize platform and enterprise tools and infrastructure to facilitate DevOps methodology and approachAssist code and software releases and deployments in various environments such as production, testing, and sandboxIdentify and spearhead creation of automation and innovation opportunities throughout the software product lifecycleRequirements - education & experience5 years of experience in a relevant field or as a DevOps engineer or similar software engineering role.Required skillsDetail oriented with high attention to detailIndependent thinking and problem solving; ability to work independently and proactively seek out problems and find solutionsStrong foundation in System Engineering and Administration (Linux, Windows)Experience with one or more scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python)Experience with one or more Version Control/Repository Management tools (Git, GitHub, GitLab)Experience with one or more CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Circle-CI)Experience with one or more Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, Lens)Experience with one or more log management tools (Elastic Stack, Grafana Loki, FluentD)Experience with one or more Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)Experience with one or more Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)Nice-to-have / preferred skillsExperience with embedded systems build and development processTeam leadership experienceImpellam Group and its brands are equal-opportunity employers committed to diversity and inclusion.
