C.A. Licensed Assessment Psychologist—Flexible, Assessment-Focused Role (San Diego)

At the Center for Thoughtful Lasting Change (CTLC), we specialize in providing high-quality psychological and developmental evaluations, with the option to include therapy clients if that aligns with your interests. Whether you're focused solely on assessment or prefer to combine evaluations with a small therapy caseload, we’ll work with you to craft a role that aligns with your goals and lifestyle.
Assessment-Only — no therapy, case management, or crisis intervention required (unless you choose to include it)
Low client volume — full-time is just 4 clients per week
Remote flexibility — write reports from anywhere
Flexible hours, complete reports from anywhere
Customizable Schedule — Create a schedule that works for you
Autonomy & Support — enjoy professional independence with help from a responsive administrative team
Compensation:
$130,000 - $170,000 per year
Responsibilities:
Perform psychological and developmental evaluations
Meet with clients in-office solely for testing sessions (typically 2-3 hours per client)
Write reports remotely at times that work best for you
Choose to see as few as 2 clients per week, or gradually increase to a full-time schedule (4 clients/week)
Qualifications:
A Doctoral degree in Psychology
Active California State license as a clinical psychologist
Certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers or CPR (or willing to obtain).
Have high-quality report-writing skills and are committed to delivering thorough, person-centered evaluations

Essential Skills:
Proficient knowledge of a range of psychological assessment tools and familiarity with developmental and neuro-developmental disorders
Proven ability to build rapport and connect with clients, providing empathetic and effective care
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships
Clear and professional communication skills, capable of creating detailed psychological reports and conveying findings to clients and their support networks
Strong organizational and time management abilities, consistently meeting goals, and maintaining clinical excellence
Skilled at managing multiple tasks with precision, with a focus on reliability and attention to detail
Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a respectful, supportive manner
