Commercial Loan OfficerLocation: Fort Collins, CO 80031 Employment Type: Full-Time Work Model: Hybrid – Employees must be onsite at least 50% of the time over a two-week pay period Department: Commercial Lending Reports to: Commercial Lending Manager / VP of Commercial LendingThe Commercial Loan Officer plays a key role in Elevations Credit Union's growth strategy by soliciting, developing, and servicing a wide variety of commercial loans. This individual will act as a financial advisor and trusted partner to members and prospects, managing relationships throughout the entire loan process—from origination to closing and portfolio servicing. Success in this role requires deep product knowledge, a proven ability to build and manage relationships, a robust personal loan portfolio, and the capacity to thrive in a sales-focused and community-oriented environment.Essential Functions:Originate and service commercial loan relationships, including real estate, C&I, and SBA loans.Actively prospect and develop new business through networking, referral partnerships, and community engagement.Manage an existing commercial loan portfolio, ensuring high service levels, risk management, and relationship growth.Serve as a primary point of contact for commercial members during the entire loan process, maintaining proactive and transparent communication.Accurately collect and analyze loan applications, financial documents, and creditworthiness.Cross-sell appropriate credit union products and services to meet member needs and support financial wellness.Stay current with economic trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting commercial lending.Collaborate with credit, underwriting, operations, and legal teams to ensure timely and effective loan processing.Represent Elevations Credit Union at business and community events to expand the credit union's visibility and impact.Required Skills, Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business, finance, economics, or a related field.3–5 years of experience in commercial or business lending within a financial institution.Proven success in a sales and production role within the financial services industry.Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, services, underwriting practices, and regulations.Demonstrated experience managing an existing commercial loan portfolio.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate risk and structure sound credit deals.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working at a credit union or community bank.Established referral sources and active participation in the local business community.Familiarity with SBA lending programs and government-guaranteed loan structures.Experience with CRM and commercial loan origination platforms.Work Environment & Requirements:Hybrid work schedule (50% onsite required).Regular use of standard office equipment; sitting frequently; occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs).Must have a personal smartphone for multi-factor authentication (MFA) as part of employment requirements.
