Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: RNFA Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 07:00 - 17:30 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Must apply for license within 24 hours after offer Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRNFA Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Description: Position specialty is RNFA in the operating room. Shifts are during the day, 4x10 hours. No call or weekend requirements. Floating may occur to pre/post-operative areas, and occasionally to a designated affiliate for surgical cases. A minimum of 36 guaranteed hours per week is provided. Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility. Pending licenses are accepted, provided the application is submitted promptly after the offer. Scrub color will be provided. Previous charge experience is required. Experience in a specific preferred charting system is desired. The facility cares for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The average daily census is approximately 8 patients. The unit consists of 2 operating rooms. Interdisciplinary support includes rapid response teams. Travelers must adhere to strict professional conduct standards. Conduct issues could result in immediate contract termination. Travelers need to complete required modules prior to starting. Modules can take up to 8 hours to complete, and time spent is billable. The return staff policy requires a gap of 3 years before reapplying as a traveler. Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals. A valid state license is mandatory, or candidates must participate in the licensure project.
