Dextera CorporationSUMMARY:The Fire Safety Compliance Officer plays a vital role in enhancing fire prevention and safety services, primarily focusing on the Pentagon Reservation and Fort Belvoir Mark Center Campus. This position requires a solid understanding of fire prevention methodologies and familiarity with relevant codes and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSConduct thorough inspections of buildings to identify hazardous conditions and fire code violations. Determine necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable fire codes, regulations, and standards, and effectively communicate these measures to stakeholders. Inspect and test fire protection and detection systems to confirm compliance with legal requirements and industry standards. Follow up on fire code compliance to verify that corrective actions have been successfully implemented where violations were identified. Prepare detailed reports outlining fire inspections conducted, violations found, and recommended corrective actions. Participate in ongoing training sessions to remain informed on the latest fire prevention, safety protocols, and firefighting procedures. Perform additional duties related to this position as required. JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED with at least four (4) years of relevant experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of building construction, fire protection features, and operational aspects of fire hazards is essential. Familiarity with legal requirements and code regulations for effective fire safety enforcement. Understanding of essential fire inspection equipment and techniques. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with various stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Proficiency in using job-related technology, including computers and office software. Certification as Fire Inspector I is mandatory; Fire Inspector II and III certifications are preferred. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance. OTHER REQUIREMENTSThis position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing, and other physical activities. Must be able to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing 50 lbs or more. Exposure to varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, inclement weather, and loud noises. Work primarily involves inspection of buildings and properties, both interior and exterior. Compensation details: $57,200 Yearly Salary
