Kelly is hiring a Junior R&D/TS&D Technicianfor a 12 - month Contract role with one of our prestigious clients based out in Croydon, PA 19021.Job Title: Junior R&D/TS&D TechnicianLocation: Croydon, PA 19021Employment Type: 12-month long term contract Pay rate: $20 - 28/hr. on W2Shift & Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts Schedule pattern: 3 Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM - 1 Day Off - 3 Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM - 7 Days Off Then rotates: 4 Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM - 1 Day Off - 3 Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AMJob description: Provides basic technical support to Lead Scientists and Technologist Leaders in the preparation and execution of experimental activities and studies. Uses existing procedures to provides technical support for product development, application development, technical service, and or product or process research.In this role, you will be using standard operating procedures to complete well-defined activities to develop the technical skills required to perform routine tasks. You will need to understand how these assigned tasks relate to other jobs and be able to exchange information in routine situations within your workgroup.It is your responsibility to use existing procedures to resolve straightforward problems with limited opportunities to independently modify procedures or work processes. You are accountable for managing your assigned tasks and the accuracy of your own work. You will receive close to moderate level of supervision and guidance in this role. Responsibilities – Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role Works as part of a team in a laboratory supporting chemists and engineers in developing, screening and commercializing new products and processManages and then safely executes laboratory work requests, maintaining and running relevant laboratory apparatus and testing equipment and documenting dataAccurately and reliably records readings and observations using relevant equipment and instruments, understanding how assigned duties integrate with others in the team.Acts responsible for calibration, safe operation, and routine maintenance of simple and moderately complex instruments or machinery, and troubleshoots faulty equipment effects repairs or initiates repair processes as appropriate Maintains inventories of consumable materials, chemicals, and supplies related to activities by anticipating usage rates, order lead times, and ordering purchasing procedures, impacting the accuracy of own work Promptly and effectively communicates issues to Technology Leader or lead scientists in order to enable or accelerate problem resolution Actively participate in work group team meetings to address safety, process improvement, problem solving, and other work group, department, and functional topics Qualifications A High School diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of laboratory experience required (Local requirements may vary). Associates Degree with emphasis in Chemistry, Biology, or similar technology related area + relevant work experience preferred.Day-to-Day Responsibilities Perform basic laboratory analyses Sample preparation and analysis, including: Weighing samples Drying samples Use of analytical balances Use of ovens Preparation techniques Operate basic lab equipment: pH meters Turbidity meters Ability to stand/walk for extended periods Minimal computer work (email, basic systems) Skills & Experience Profile Prior laboratory or technician experience strongly preferred Comfortable with basic lab tools and equipment Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Basic computer skills required (email, simple data entry) PPE & Safety Requirements Required attire (candidate-provided): Long sleeves Long pants Closed-toe shoes Steel-toe shoes required when entering warehouse areas Client provides: Hard hat, Safety glasses, Gloves If you believe you are a good fit for this opportunity, please submit your application through the job posting link.
