AVP, Risk Management Systems Business Analyst
Role Summary/PurposeWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team as a Sr. Business Analyst. As a key member of GRC Risk Management Systems team, you will play a critical role in the understanding and driving organization's risk management goals. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to grow in the financial industry while contributing to the organization's data-driven decision-making processes.Essential ResponsibilitiesAdvocate for use of the GRC technology platform as the optimal tool for risk and governance program activities and system of recordPartner with different internal and external stakeholders to enable different departments across the organization to identify, understand and manage key organizational risks on a holistic level.Develop Features/User Stories and support review of QA test scripts, lead UAT and regression activities, and release validation .Identify process improvement, user experience, design, and technical systems and architecture opportunities to support risk and governance programsDrive business requirements to ensure data integrity, usage and flow are well understood and agreed-upon by business partners during groomingMaintain a well-groomed backlog, participate in Agile rituals and be the voice of the business for GRCSupport build and prioritized sequence of the backlog to drive defined product roadmap by partnering and collaborating with stakeholders on defining and documenting requirementsSupport the day-to-day management and operation of Synchrony’s GRC Risk technology platform, as requiredWork with IT and business teams, as requiredPerform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/RequirementsBachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Management, Information Technology, or Finance;OR in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years’ experience in software development and/or life-cycle management including, Design, QA, UAT, and, Project Management4+ years of experience in software development and/or life-cycle management including, Design, QA, UAT, and, Project Management4+ years of experience with operational risk management techniques including, development of process flows, identification and assessment of risks and controls, testing and monitoring procedures, and, development of related metricsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail2+ years of working with advanced Excel functions and formulas including, Pivot Table vlookup, Macros, and, Charts5+ years of Project Management experienceAbility and flexibility to travel for business as requiredDesired CharacteristicsAbility to lead and manage projects to completion, especially managing multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervisionExperience in driving/identifying validation scenarios for UAT with Product OwnersExperience working with Product Owners/SMEs in eGRC domain for solutions like: TPRM; Issues Management; RCSA; Business Continuity Management; Compliance; AuditProblem solver with ability to promote collaborative problem solvingEffective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment in an offshore/onshore modelMinimum 4+ years of experience in Risk/Banking/Credit Card industryTrack record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environmentHigh energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written)Proficient with Agile software development framework both Scrum and KanbanProficient in documenting process flows/Epics/Features/User StoriesExperience working on any eGRC platform (Archer; SAI360;MetricStream; Audit Board etc) environmentExperience working with a global teamGrade/Level: 10The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Our Way Of WorkingWe’re proud to offer you flexibility.
