Fitter
Industrial Steel Fitter Seeking skilled Fitters who possess the ability to work from drawings and blueprints to build heavy industrial steel frames and tanks for a variety of industries around the world. The ideal candidate should have a welding background and be capable of tack welding pieces together during fitting. Responsibilities Work from blueprints to determine necessary space, tools, and personnel required for fabrication. Develop and execute a plan of action with efficiency and accuracy. Demonstrate leadership skills to delegate work and maintain an organized team. Use fit-up tools, fixturing, methods, and equipment proficiently. Adapt between plate work and structural, mechanical, and industrial tasks based on supplied drawings. Perform tack-welding using GMAW and FCAW processes. Possess a willingness to undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Shop Supervisor. Essential Skills Exceptional blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Strong welding ability, particularly in tack-welding using GMAW and FCAW processes. Ability to conceptualize parts from drawings and identify attachment and cut points. Solid math skills to understand tanks, diameters, and figure attachment points. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with fitting steel components, particularly ASTM-A36 and ASTM-A572. Familiarity with various grades and thicknesses of stainless steel. Experience with various weldments, including tanks, exhaust stacks, industrial duct work, and structural supports. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a loud, hot manufacturing setting with a standard shift from 6:30am to 3pm. The current schedule involves Monday through Thursday with 10-hour shifts, and Fridays from 6:30am to 3pm. Saturdays may be required on a rotational basis, with half-day shifts starting at 6:30am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plant City, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
