HR Coordinator

HR Coordinator Responsibilities Processes the onboarding of part-time employees, new-hire orientations, and audits for accuracy and I-9 compliance, and ensures all records are up-to-date. Provides information to hiring managers regarding processes and procedures. Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to HR. Administrative and paperwork oversight for both electronic and paper files. Assists with the daily data input of position management related to hires, reappointments, revisions, and separations for hourly teaching and non-teaching instructional staff. Processes employment verifications and public service loan forgiveness. Maintains the budget in the Human Resources department and keeps up to date on current issues and matters related to HR. Troubleshoots any CUNYfirst issues and makes corrections as necessary. Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Other duties as assigned. Schedule Monday-Friday (Hybrid) 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. *Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be offered for this position. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Excellent judgment, strong communication, and people skills. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion with regard to all matters, data, and documents. Detail-oriented, self-directed, motivated, and proactive. Strong problem solving and critical thinking aptitude. Familiar with CUNY's collective bargaining agreements for white-collar titles and PSC staff is preferred. CUNY Title Overview Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function. Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting. Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources. Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness. Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up, and responds to employee inquiries. Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages. Performs related duties as assigned. Compensation and Benefits $72,236 Annual Salary commensurate with education and experience.
