Quality Assurance Technician - Food Manufacturing

Our sweet and savory products are enjoyed by millions every day, and we remain committed to quality, excellence, and consistently exceeding customer expectations.We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Food QA Team!This is a full-time, on-site, second shift (11am-7pm) position.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollow and understand standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies.Follows and understands Good Hygiene, Safe Work Practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), to aide in providing a safe quality product.Responsible for reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.Monitor and Perform HACCP checks as specified in our HACCP plans. Document all HACCP checks and corrective actions.Perform calibration of scales, pH meter, thermometers, etc.Follow and enforce standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations ofmajor customers and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA, HACCP, and EPA and assures associates are consistently trained in these standards and comply with all requirements.Take appropriate corrective actions when a deviation or quality problem occurs.Evaluate and test products on dry and wet mix lines.Test in-process wet mix batches for flow, brix, color, viscosity, pH, etc.Test in-process dry mix batches for appearance, flavor, viscosity, pH, donut/cake weight before and after fry/bake, etc.Bake/fry all Drymix items to schedule.Perform in-process line audits to ensure product meets specifications.Perform various audits i.e., First Pass, GMP, Code Verification, Metal Detection, etc.Collect samples from warehouse and perform tests to ensure product meets specifications.Responsible for receiving bulk raw materials (syrups, flour, sugar).Maintain record-keeping as required by QA programs.Inspect metal detectors, scales, and bulk flour system daily per QA program.Required SkillsResearch/data collectionRecord keeping and reportingCommunicationAnalytical, decision making and problem-solving skillsHigh level of organization and attention to detailTeam playerProficient Computer Skills with experience using Microsoft SuiteMust be able to carry, twist, bend, and stoop in conjunction with frequent lifting up to 50 poundsEducation And ExperienceHigh School Diploma or Equivalent, Associates Degree preferredMinimum of 1-2 years in Food and/or Baking Experience a plusQualificationsAbility to work as a team and independently to meet deadlinesFast learner with new systemsAbility to collaborate cross-functionally
