Senior Associate, Accounting Transformation
SENIOR ASSOCIATE, ACCOUNTING TRANSFORMATION & REMEDIATIONROLE DESCRIPTION:Exbo Group is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team to help grow our Accounting Transformation group. This individual will support core accounting transformation services that we provide to help onboard new corporate clients or help newly acquired portfolio companies integrate onto the new platform of an acquirer. In this role they will support front-to-back onboarding, accounting transformation, and integration processes for our new clients. As a Senior Associate, they will work with our Accounting Transformation team to implement best practices and help our new clients smoothly transition to a new accounting platform. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities that include detailed technical accounting adjustments, data cleansing and management, organization and standardization of general ledger accounting data, building out of accounting procedures for ongoing controllership clients. In addition to these functional responsibilities, this individual will also be responsible for collaborating deeply with both our internal teams and new clients to obtain correct accounting data, effectively communicate timelines, and present newly transformed accounting data. The Senior Associate will grow their knowledge base to become an expert that can easily identify, and standardize a set of historical accounting data. As part of the Accounting Transformation team, you play a key role in making sure our clients can be supported throughout the onboarding or integration process. This position is client focused and will require the candidate to exude confidence in leading meetings, communicating deadlines, and executing the task at hand. WHAT YOU’LL DO:Serve as a primary client contact, coordinating directly on deliverables, timelines, and open items including chart of accounts alignment, systems access, and FTE allocation discussionsParticipate in daily internal and client calls and own the recap notes that keep cross-functional teams aligned across active engagementsDrive new client onboarding end-to-end, setting the tone for the engagement from day oneLead systems access calls and manage the provisioning process across client platformsReview and sign off on journal entries, reconciliations, reclassifications, prepaid schedules, accrued expenses, and fixed asset activityPerform and review balance sheet reconciliations with an eye for accuracy and GAAP complianceSupport month-end close execution across a varied client base, including transaction categorization, payroll review, and close tasks that require real judgment, not just process-followingResearch and resolve discrepancies across client accounts; work with external auditors or tax partners when engagements require itOwn the team's engagement tracker, keeping project status, open items, and deadlines current so nothing falls through the cracksActively use AI tools to reduce manual effort, sharpen accuracy, and push delivery quality forward Contribute to building the client-facing deliverables and products that define what great looks like from ExboKEY QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in finance or accountingHave 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial operations, or auditing in any business sectorCPA preferred but not requiredStrong month-end close experienceExperience with Stripe, ASC 606, and/or payroll is a plusHigh attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracyPossess strong critical thinking skills and ability to think outside of a given set of constraintsProficiency with MS Office experience with demonstrated knowledge working with spreadsheetsPrior QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online experience is a plus but not requiredStrong math skills and deep knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Must have superior written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate clearly and effectively with clientsAbility to identify and resolve issues and present information in a clear and concise mannerExcellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and deal with ambiguityEnjoy working with and advising a diverse set of growing companies WORK MODEL:This is a full-time position that starts immediately.
