Senior Business Development Manager, Events

Your role will involve thorough research, qualifying prospects, and developing strategic approaches to build a robust pipeline, ensuring you meet and exceed your targets.We seek a candidate with a keen interest in understanding clients' businesses and demonstrating how The Experience Studio can enhance their events and help them achieve their objectives.Key Responsibilities:Identify, manage, and guide prospects through the selling lifecycle in the corporate events market. Boost company profitability by targeting high-revenue opportunities. Effectively sell the entire Experience Studio service portfolio, including Sourcing, Event Management, Group Travel, and Creative Production. Engage proactively with colleagues across Amex GBT at all levels to cultivate a multi-functional network. Collaborate on cross-selling opportunities with Strategic Meeting clients, Business Travel clients, and other Amex GBT sectors. Generate fresh business leads and convert them into valuable clients. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities. Network and represent the company within industry circles, including speaking engagements, and collaborate with the creative team to produce compelling sales materials. Lead RFI and RFP responses, managing aspects such as pricing, negotiations, proposal building, and pitch presentations. Qualifications:Demonstrated success in sales negotiations and closing deals in the corporate events sector. Minimum of 5 years in a Business Development role with a strong background in high-caliber event production. Experience in the live experiential events industry. Excellent negotiation and influencing capabilities, adaptable to various stakeholders, including C-level executives, marketing teams, and event managers. Proficient in Business English (additional European language is a plus). A dynamic team player with strong client communication and networking skills. Self-motivated and target-driven, able to work effectively in a virtual team environment. Consultative selling, communication, and negotiation expertise. Strong financial acumen; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with CMP and/or SMMC certification. Willingness to travel by various means. This position targets a selling audience that includes Heads/VPs, Event/Communication/Marketing/Sales Managers, and Procurement teams. You will closely collaborate with the creative teams in The Experience Studio to deliver winning proposals and presentations and effectively address client needs.This role is part of our Global Sales Team for The Experience Studio at Amex GBT and reports to the Global Director of Sales. You will receive support from peers and leaders both in North America and globally.Location:United StatesThe national base salary range for this position is $88,200.00 - $163,800.00. The actual salary will depend on the role's complexity and the candidate's relevant experience and skills.
