IT Operations Manager
Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT / Business Operations, the IT Operations Manager will own the daily operation and continuous improvement of Gorton’s IT infrastructure and security operations. You will serve as a hands-on leader, partnering with IT leadership on priorities while working alongside a senior technical specialist and overseeing onsite and remote third-party support.What You’ll Do Own the day-to-day operation of IT systems (networks, servers, endpoints, identity, and access)Remain hands on with troubleshooting, system changes, and infrastructure improvementsProvide leadership and oversight of onsite and remote third-party IT support resourcesOwn IT security operations across identity, access, monitoring, and endpoint protectionEnsure reliable IT operations for a 24×5 manufacturing environment, including participation in off-hours escalation and incident response as neededPlan and oversee infrastructure-focused initiatives such as:Network and facility upgradesServer and application modernizationIT asset and endpoint lifecycle managementEnsure strong operational practices around:System availability, performance, reliability, and service levelsAccess controls, MFA, and least-privilege enforcementMonitoring, alerting, incident response, and root cause resolutionPartner with IT leadership on planning, prioritization, and budgetingDefine, maintain, and enforce documentation, operational standards, and support processesTechnology EnvironmentGorton’s operates an evolving, primarily Microsoft-stack technology environment, including:Microsoft 365 and hybrid cloud infrastructure across Nutanix (on-prem) and Azure VMsWindows Server, Active Directory, endpoint managementFortinet-based network and perimeter security (firewalls, switches, access points)Microsoft security and identity tooling (IAM, MFA, endpoint protection, monitoring)Microsoft Teams as the primary collaboration and communication platform What You’ll NeedBachelor’s degree in IT or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience7-10+ years of experience in IT operations or infrastructurePrior hands-on technical experience with direct ownership of systems and operational outcomesStrong grounding in Microsoft environments, networking, and security fundamentalsExperience supporting multi-site organizations with manufacturingExposure to application support and Unix/Linux environments is a plusRelevant technical certifications (Microsoft, networking, or security) are a plus, but not requiredComfortable working in a small team model with third-party support resourcesPragmatic, accountable, and execution-focused approachStrong interpersonal skillsPay Range: $117,360-155,000/AnnualCandidates must have permanent U.S. work authorizationGorton’s is an equal opportunity employer.
