In this role, you will assist the company in making profitable business decisions by gathering information, preparing accurate estimates and negotiating contracts with clients, vendors and sub contractors. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and has a proven track record as an HVAC Mechanical Estimator/Purchaser. Compensation based on experience, range $120,000-180,000.00Responsibilities Fully understand the project scope and requirements by studying documentation, meeting with clients, and visiting relevant jobsite locationsCollect necessary documentation such as plans, drawings, and project specificationsDetermine the key variables for cost and conduct research to determine expected labor and materials costsGather bids and negotiate with service providers to secure the best possible pricesCreate and submit estimates Review junior estimators bids and takeoffs for accuracy Budget and forecast using appropriate softwareGenerate take offs for sheetmetal, piping, insulation and controlsGenerate RFIs and proposalsCreate change ordersProject cost tracking for all projectsNegotiate contracts with clients on new projectsLevel all vendors and subcontractors to ensure correct scope and negotiate pricingGenerate contracts and purchase orders for all subs and vendors for all projects QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related fieldPrevious experience as an HVAC Estimator is required for min 6 yearsPrevious experience as a HVAC PurchaserAbility to forecast building costs and knowledge of estimation formulasStrong mathematical and analytical skillsSkilled in relevant software (Quotesoft, planswift, building connected, procore, bluebeam)Excellent research, writing, and negotiation skillsAbility to work and thrive in fast paste environment
