Job Description SummaryA growing mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to lead estimating efforts across commercial mechanical construction projects. The company focuses heavily on commercial HVAC systems and design-build delivery for complex commercial environments.The ideal candidate has strong commercial HVAC estimating experience, understands mechanical systems in detail, and can lead estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.Key ResponsibilitiesLead estimating efforts for commercial HVAC and mechanical projectsPrepare conceptual budgets and hard-bid estimatesPerform material and labor takeoffs from MEP drawings and specificationsReview plans, specs, and scope documents to identify gaps and risk factorsCoordinate with engineers, project managers, and operations teamsSolicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor pricingDevelop proposals, budgets, and scope clarificationsSupport design-build preconstruction and value engineering effortsReview estimate accuracy, labor productivity, and cost historyAssist with turnover and preconstruction planning with operations teamsRequirements5–10+ years of HVAC estimating experienceStrong background in commercial mechanical construction requiredExperience with large commercial HVAC systems and equipmentDesign-build estimating experience strongly preferredAbility to read and interpret MEP drawings and specificationsProficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating softwareStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsExperience mentoring junior estimators is a plusCompensation & BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid holidays and PTOLong-term growth within a stable mechanical contractorStrong pipeline of commercial HVAC projects
