Sr. IT Solutions Engineer/ Lead .Net DeveloperJob Locations USOverviewThe Principal Solutions Architect is a highly experienced technical leader and recognized authority responsible for defining and driving enterprise-wide architecture strategies across cloud, application modernization, and secure distributed systems. This role operates at a senior leadership level, influencing technology direction, advising executive stakeholders, and ensuring alignment between enterprise architecture, business objectives, and federal or regulated requirements. The Principal Solutions Architect leads highly complex initiatives involving cloud transformation, Azure-based solutions, systems integration, and secure application development, while mentoring technical teams and establishing architectural standards across the organization.ResponsibilitiesDefine and lead enterprise architecture strategy across cloud, applications, and infrastructureDevelop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with organizational and client objectivesEstablish architecture standards, reference models, and governance frameworksAdvise executive leadership on emerging technologies, risks, and investment prioritiesArchitect and oversee complex Microsoft Azure solutions, including hybrid and multi-cloud environmentsLead enterprise cloud adoption, migration, and modernization strategiesDesign solutions leveraging Azure services such as, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Services and Functions, Azure Virtual Networks and security controls, Azure Data and AI servicesEnsure optimization for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiencyLead large-scale application modernization initiatives, including refactoring legacy systems into cloud-native architecturesEstablish best practices for Microservices and distributed systems, API-first design, and event-driven architecturesGuide development teams in full-stack and cloud-native application developmentEnsure integration of security-by-design principles across all solutionsOversee architecture alignment with federal and enterprise frameworks (e.g., NIST, Zero Trust)Partner with cybersecurity teams to address identity and access management, cloud security posture management, risk mitigation and complianceSupport and guide penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and secure system designLead cross-functional teams of architects, engineers, and developersProvide technical direction across multiple programs simultaneouslyConduct architecture reviews, design approvals, and technical assessmentsDrive adoption of DevSecOps, automation, and continuous delivery practicesServe as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, clients, and stakeholdersTranslate complex technical concepts into business value and strategic recommendationsSupport business development and pre-sales efforts through solution design and technical leadershipPresent architecture strategies, risks, and trade-offs at executive and client levelsAdvanced expertise in enterprise architecture and distributed system designDeep knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture and cloud-native technologiesStrong experience with application modernization, cloud migration, and hybrid environmentsExpertise in security architecture and compliance frameworksExceptional leadership and ability to influence across technical and business domainsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in complex environmentsExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage executive audiencesProven ability to lead large-scale initiatives and mentor senior technical staffQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)12-15 years of progressive experience in solutions architecture, cloud engineering and platform design and enterprise application development and modernization5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, application modernization, and cloud development3+ years designing and implementing solutions in Microsoft Azure environmentsDemonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale transformation initiativesExperience in federal, regulated, or large-scale enterprise environments strongly preferredPreferred certifications in Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Microsoft Azure Developer AssociateOne or more of the following: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, TOGAFTarget Pay RangeThe below listed pay range for this position is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
