WPCA Operator in Training

The Town of Killingly is seeking a full-time Wastewater Operator in Training to maintain the wastewater treatment facility including pump stations and the collection system. This position is responsible for a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled tasks assigned by the Assistant Plant Superintendent. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. High school diploma or vocational program in wastewater, water, plumbing or mechanical repair or related field. Two years’ experience in general maintenance, wastewater operation, construction work, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess or have ability to obtain a CT Class I Wastewater Treatment Certification within 1 year. Must possess or have ability to obtain a Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement within 6 months. Must possess or have ability to obtain confined space certification if necessary.
