Employee Health Nurse

Demonstrates competencies in disease processes, normal and abnormal test results, physical and emotional needs, safety needs, verbal and nonverbal communication in the treatment and care of employees.Responsibilities:Performs duties and interacts with employees in a manner that projects a positive image of the department and hospital. Works with other members of the department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contact with employees, patients, physicians and ancillary personnel are friendly, courteous and helpful. Explains procedures and provides assistance as appropriate in all situations.LENOIR**Other Information**Other information:QualificationsEDUCATION REQUIREMENTSGraduation from an accredited School of Nursing.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTTwo years' experience as an Occupational Health Nurse in a hospital setting or 3-5 years general nursing practice experience. BSN preferred.LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATIONCurrent license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTSCommunication and counseling skills including verbal, non-verbal and listening skills. Technical competence for professional growth and development. Administrative and computer skills. Current certification in CPR.WORK ENVIRONMENTExposure to potentially contagious diseases. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens requiring the use of protective equipment. Low noise environment. Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
