BU Controller

Company Overview The Jonathan Group maintains 8 facilities across 8 business units throughout North America, specializing in machining and fabrication operations for the Defense, Aerospace, Commercial, and Technology markets. Position Overview The ideal candidate will have broad accounting experience, proven record executing process improvements, and comfortable “rolling up their sleeves”. Close the monthly and year-end books, ensuring transactions are accurately reflected in the GL and compliance with GAAP Manage and coordinate with other teams (Engineering, Operations, etc.) to ensure accurate cost accounting expenses for Materials, Labor, Overhead, BOM, Routers, etc. Estimate new and proposed product costs and run standard cost roll-ups on the ERP system Ensures all account reconciliations are prepared timely Monthly, weekly, and daily internal reports to management Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders Coordinates A/P and A/R activity with other team members. Analyzes actual results vs. plan. Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. Supports commissions calculations for internal and external sales reps. Assist with internal and external audits Work with SVP Finance and Corporate Controller to develop policies, and procedures, including the design and implementation of processes and internal controls Other special finance and accounting projects as assigned. Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, CPA preferred. 8+ years accounting experience preferred Manufacturing experience preferred. Firm grasp of ERP systems Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze financial data. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and independent with a strong work ethic. Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Attention to detail with ability to frame financial and accounting impact.
