Our SynPeps™ combine the targeting precision of biologics with PK/delivery properties closer to small molecules, opening therapeutic opportunities that antibodies and small molecules cannot reach. SynX raised a pre-seed round from top VC and life science investors and is operating with a 5-person team from its premises in central London.The roleWe're looking for a Strategy Fellow to help us turn our platform's differentiation into a sharp, investment-grade drug target portfolio. You'll work directly with our CEO on a highly strategically important project: the curated drug target list and accompanying Target Product Profiles (TPPs) that anchor our Seed strategy.This is a high-ownership, high-impact role: your work will directly shape our first therapeutic programs. It is a rare opportunity to combine deep scientific reasoning and commercial judgement in an entrepreneurial context. You will gain broad exposure to different disease areas, think critically about how a new modality can solve medical challenges and improve care for patients, and sharpen your scientific, commercial, and strategic instincts.What You'll DoCritically review our differentiation thesis and target discovery frameworkRun our AI-augmented target discovery workflow at scale across a candidate target universeMap indication expansion logic and commercial upside for top targets (break-in indication → expansion path → licensing-readiness inflection points)Build the competitive landscape view for top targets — clinical pipeline, mechanism overlap, white space. Document your process and findings in sharp written deliverables and presentation materialsPrepare materials for strategic discussions and external stakeholdersWhat We're Looking ForRelevant backgrounds include:PhD in life sciences with an interest in the intersection of medical and commercial questions and entrepreneurship,MD with strong scientific fluency,Pharma or biotech operator with experience in indication strategy, portfolio strategy, translational development, or commercial assessment, orOther backgrounds that combine strong biomedical judgment with strategic and commercial instinctsSpecifically, You Should BringFluency with primary scientific literature: you can read clinical and biomedical research papers and form your own viewCommercial instincts: you think in terms of unmet need, competitive landscape, and commercial attractivenessStrong writing: your drafts should land on a partner's desk and read like a memo, not an academic literature reviewSelf-direction: you'll work with autonomy on challenging medical and commercial questionsConfidentiality: you'll be handling sensitive strategy material and are comfortable treating it as suchLogisticsDuration: 3 months full-time.
