Accounting Specialist

Job descriptionWe’re looking for an Accounting Specialist to support our growing client base through high-quality bookkeeping, financial reporting, and client service. What You’ll Do Accounting & Financial ReviewProvide bookkeeping and accounting support to firm clientsSupport accountants in the recurring delivery of accurate financial statementsPrepare financial statements with accuracy and completenessPrepare and review journal entries, adjusted trial balances, and tax journal entries, as neededIndependently prepare Adjusting Journal Entries (AJEs), Journal Entries (JEs), and Tax Journal Entries (TJEs) with minimal supervisionExplain financial data and outcomes to clients using clear, accessible languageClient Service & CommunicationServe as the primary point of contact for assigned clientsDeliver timely, high-quality client serviceCommunicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teamsMaintain a response time of 24 hours or less for all client and internal communicationsSoftware & ProcessUtilize CCH Axcess, QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Karbon, and Microsoft OfficeFollow firm SOPs and maintain accurate time tracking and assignment statusIdentify opportunities to improve processes and reduce recurring accounting errorsAssist in developing templates or checklists to support accuracy and consistencyMaintain proper documentation for all supporting work, adjustments, and reconciliations What We’re Looking For EducationBachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or a related business fieldExperience2+ years of bookkeeping experience requiredExperience managing accounting functions across multiple clients, entities, or business accounts simultaneously (public accounting or client-service environment strongly preferred)Experience with QuickBooks requiredIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Skills & AttributesStrong verbal and written communication skillsDetail-oriented and process-drivenSelf-motivated and accountableComfortable seeking guidance when neededStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsCollaborative team playerSolid understanding of accounting principles
