We are unable to partner with any 3rd parties )Job Title: Databricks ArchitectLocation: Houston, TX (Downtown) Onsite 4 days per weekDuration: 10-Month Contract with the likelihood of extensionPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Databricks Architect for the Oil & Gas industry to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data solutions for a high-impact enterprise environment. This person will serve as a key technical leader, helping shape the organization's Databricks architecture while also partnering closely with stakeholders, mentoring team members, and enabling broader team success through clear communication and training.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect, design, and implement scalable data platforms and solutions using DatabricksLead the development of modern data pipelines, workflows, and cloud-based data architecturesPartner with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutionsEstablish best practices for Databricks platform usage, performance optimization, governance, and securityProvide architectural guidance across data engineering, analytics, and integration initiativesSupport the modernization of data ecosystems, including batch and real-time processing frameworksReview existing environments and recommend improvements for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiencyAct as a technical leader and trusted advisor across cross-functional teamsCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesTrain, mentor, and upskill internal team members on Databricks tools, architecture, and best practicesCreate documentation, standards, and knowledge-sharing materials to support long-term adoption and successRequired QualificationsStrong hands-on experience as a Databricks Architect or in a similar senior-level data architecture roleDeep expertise with Databricks , including architecture, implementation, and optimizationExperience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions in cloud environmentsStrong knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT frameworks, data modeling, and distributed data processingAbility to communicate effectively with leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teamsProven experience training, mentoring, or enabling others in a technical environmentStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced settingExperience creating architecture documentation, technical roadmaps, and best practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPKnowledge of data governance, security, and performance tuning best practicesBackground supporting analytics, BI, or advanced data use casesExperience working in large enterprise or complex transformation environmentsWhy This RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to make a strong impact in a visible architecture role, helping build and scale a modern Databricks environment while also influencing team capability through leadership, communication, and training.
