Educational Sign Language InterpreterThe Educational Sign Language Interpreter provides interpreting and other support services to students with hearing impairments who, to the extent possible, are mainstreamed in regular school classes. The Educational Sign Language Interpreter's primary function is to facilitate communication between students with hearing impairments and their hearing peers, the classroom teacher and other personnel in the school system. Other duties that may be performed when not required to provide interpreting may include tutoring, note taking, participation in meetings as a member of the education team and other duties to support the education environment.Requirements / QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent Must meet the California Department of Education's Educational Interpreting Standards by holding one of the following: RID certification or equivalent; Achieved a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, the ESSE-I/R or NAD/ACCI assessment THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION:Certification (RID certification or equivalent)Test Results/Materials (Score of 4.0 or above on EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment)Letter of IntroductionLetter(s) of Recommendation (Please provide two (2) letters of recommendation)ResumeComments and Other InformationBENEFITS: The Siskiyou County Office of Education contributes $1,137.50 monthly toward Health and Welfare benefits, a membership to Cal-Ore Life Flight, and a $10,000 Life Insurance policy during the term of employment.
