DescriptionAre you excited about building the orchestration layer that powers billions of ad impressions daily? Our team owns the platform infrastructure for Amazon's Responsive E-Commerce (REC) ad creative system within Amazon DSP - the critical "pipes and plumbing" that orchestrates between creative selection, layout configuration, and rendering systems. This isn't typical frontend or backend development; it's specialized ad platform engineering where your work directly impacts millions of dollars in advertising revenue.You'll design extensible systems where configuration drives behavior at massive scale, working across multiple partner team boundaries simultaneously. Our engineers operate at the intersection of distributed systems, declarative rule engines, and ad tech domain complexity - designing clean interfaces between systems, building configuration-driven architectures, and making platform decisions that affect production traffic serving display, video, and native ad formats across Amazon's advertising ecosystem.Key job responsibilitiesDesign and implement scalable system integrations and API contracts between DCO, Layout Registry, Tenor, and rendering systems, ensuring clean interfaces across team boundariesDevelop and maintain configuration-as-code solutions including CEL rules, eligibility logic, AppConfig systems, and layout metadata schemas while managing downstream impact on production trafficBuild operational excellence into software development lifecycle including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment and maintenance while actively participating in code reviews and mentoring team membersTroubleshoot cross-system issues in the ad serving pipeline, tracing problems from bid requests through rule evaluation to creative rendering and painter dispatchCollaborate with partner teams on integration designs, schema changes, and technical decisions that balance customer requirements with platform scalabilityAbout the teamWe're a team of 8 engineers based primarily in Seattle, owning the platform layer for Amazon's REC ad creative system that powers billions of display and video ad impressions daily. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
