As a Professional Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.What are the core responsibilities for the role?Development of project work plans and scopes of workPrepare roadway, grading, drainage, water, and sewer plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3DProduce project deliverables including technical memoranda, design plans and specifications, and technical reportsPrepare supporting calculations, construction specifications, and permitting in various jurisdictionsPrepare construction cost models and engineer opinion of probable cost for projects through various stages of development, including due diligence to final construction document submittal for biddingMaintain effective communications with clients and project teamsTechnical Reporting and PresentationsConstruction Observation and Coordination with Construction ContractorsConduct regular meetings to ensure that project needs are balanced with staff availabilityQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineeringProfessional Engineering (PE) licensure or ability to obtain PE within one year3-8 years of progressive experience.A self-directed practitioner with project delivery skillsOutstanding personnel skills and the ability to communicate at all levelsMust be able to work effectively as a team member in a group environment and maintain positive relationships with team members and clientsOrganized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skillsProficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft SuiteExperience with drainage and utility reportsExperience working with both private or municipal clientsExperience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal policies, programs, and proceduresWhy would a candidate want this job?At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
