TravelNurseSource is working with AMN Healthcare to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in BANGOR, Maine, 04401!Pay Information$1,812 to $1,997 per weekAbout The PositionJob Description & RequirementsRegistered Nurse – Emergency Room - Travel - (ER RN)StartDate: 10/8/2024 Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $1811.97 - $1996.87SimpliFi Interview Team About Facility 489 State St., Bangor, ME 04401 Level II Trauma Center – receives air flights in (serve 2/3 of State; closest trauma center within a 2 hr radius) Certified Stroke Center Bed: 411 General Information Beds: 28 beds in Main ED Capacity of 16 care areas in Diagnostic Evaluation Area (Psych) – locked area with 3 security guards, 2-3 RN’s, 2 Psych techs and video monitoring of all psychiatric areas with recording available in the common areas, sally port and interview rooms 10 in ED holding 6 ED Observation beds Experience? 1-year minimum ED experience in Level 2 Trauma Center – ask permission to waive this requirement if strong Level 3 experience First-time traveler? Yes Patient Types: All ages (Neonate to Geriatric) Closest Trauma center to Acadia National Park & Mount Katahdin (end of Appalachian Trail); unique acuity within the ED; fast paced Multispecialty – Medical/ Cardiac/Neuro/Ortho/Trauma/Interventional DKA, Sepsis, Multisystem trauma, Respiratory Failure, Renal Failure, COVID, ETOH, IVDA, Mental Health (Adult and Peds) – common diagnoses include, but not limited to: ETOH, IVDA, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Suicidal Ideation, Depression, Anxiety Stroke requiring intervention, spinal precautions STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart failure – not certified cardiac center but one of the (2) centers in the state for cardiac events (Portland, ME is other) Patient Ratios: RN: Days & Nights: Main ED – 1:4 (based on acuity) ED Holding – Medical/Surgical - 1:5 – will not mix acuity ICU - 1:1-2 (based on acuity) Psych: 1:6 (based on acuity) Required Certifications: ED RN: BLS ACLS NIHSS TNCC PALS MOAB, CPI is also accepted Skills required: ED RN: Trauma experience is an absolute must; Ventilator management, critical care drips/titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, measuring cardiac strips, drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines: Art lines/CVP, stroke experience (TNK administration), Conscious sedation, assisting with splinting, US guided IV’s (preferred) Support on the Unit: Secretary, 24/7 Paramedic, 9a-9p – 3 days per week Psych Techs, 24/7 CNA – to assist with: Vitals, glucose checks, 12 lead EKG’s, some can assist with lab draws Charge nurse: unassigned Phlebotomy? Available 24/7, but RN would draw labs when starting lines, accessing ports or if they have time to assist IV/VAT Team? Yes Resource Nurse – House Supervisor, 24/7 RT, 24/7 ED physician, 24/7 Mid-Level Providers, 24/7 RRT, 24/7 Intensivist, available for consult 24/7 Charting System/Equipment: Cerner Alaris Pyxis GE monitors Floating: ED RN: No inpatient floating required (will float between Triage, Psych, Trauma and Holding routinely) Orientation: 3 days to include NEO Scheduling: Shift Times: 0700-1900 1900-0700 Weekend rotation: Potential to work every weekend (Days: Sat/Sun; Nights: Fri/Sat) Can we approve time off? Up to 7 days; must be willing to extend contract if taking a full week off, if requesting holidays or days surrounding holidays off – get approval from NM Will they be on call?
