Mechanical EngineerWith a broad scope of responsibility, performs engineering design and testing of electronic and opto-mechanical systems.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Support requirements development with conceptual design and analysis
Mechanical design of products to satisfy commercial aerospace, customer defined or internally derived requirements (FAA, RTCA, ARINC and MIL STD) using PTC Creo
Thermal and structural analysis to ensure appropriate design reliability
Validation of analytical results with mock-ups and/or prototype testing
Provide technical support for environmental qualification testing
Provide technical support for sustaining engineering activities
Coordinate mechanical design activities with other functional areas
Maintain CAD and CAD data management software (PTC Creo & Windchill)
This classification includes engineers who are capable of handling complex engineering assignments with little direct supervision or oversight.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies.
Minimum qualifications
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years electromechanical design experience
Thermal and structural finite element analysis experience
Working knowledge of PCB assemblies, machining/mill operations, sheet metal design/fabrication
5+ years working in an integrated project team environment
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 environment
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Computer skills
Proficiency with PCT Creo 3D CAD software
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Proficient with personal computers and computer operating systems.
