Overview Job Opportunity: Electrical Engineer (RCDD) – Remote (North Carolina Based)
I’m currently partnered with a multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural firm headquartered in North Carolina to help them hire an Electrical Engineer with RCDD certification .
This is a remote role , but candidates must be based in North Carolina .
This firm is well-established in delivering MEP engineering, RCDD telecommunications design, commissioning, and healthcare planning projects. They’re known for strong client relationships, high-quality design work, and a collaborative culture.
The Role As an Electrical Engineer (RCDD) , you’ll lead structured cabling and low-voltage communications design across a wide range of projects. You’ll work closely with internal MEP and architectural teams, project managers, and clients—playing a key role in delivering high-quality, code-compliant solutions.
Responsibilities Design and document structured cabling systems (voice, data, fiber) to industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, NEC).
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers through all project phases.
Prepare technical documentation including drawings, proposals, and cost estimates.
Act as the primary point of contact for low-voltage/communications design.
Stay current on industry trends and best practices.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Active RCDD certification (BICSI).
5+ years of experience designing structured cabling/low-voltage systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit , and related design software.
Strong communication and project coordination skills.
Must be based in North Carolina .
