Territory Sales Manager

Department: SalesReports to: Vice President of SalesLocation: Remote/United StatesJob Type: Full-timePosition SummaryThe Territory Sales Manager is responsible for leading sales operations within an assigned region, providing direction and oversight to a team of outside field representatives. This role owns regional revenue performance, including development and execution of the regional budget, and plays a key role in coaching sales personnel to effectively manage and grow their individual territories.This position partners cross-functionally to ensure alignment between sales, operations, and customer service while driving profitable growth through a strong distribution network. The Territory Sales Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Plywood Sales and maintains close collaboration with Plant General Managers, Sales Coordinators, Material Coordinators, the Vice President of Sales, and the Manager of Customer Service Centers.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Leadership & StrategyLead and manage sales activities across the assigned region to achieve revenue and performance targetsDevelop and oversee regional sales budgets while guiding territory representatives in building and executing their individual plansIdentify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic growth objectivesTeam Development & ManagementTrain, coach, and develop outside sales representatives to enhance performance and professional growthFoster a high-performance, accountable, and customer-focused sales cultureCustomer & Account ManagementRespond to customer inquiries and sales opportunities originating from regional offices, mills, and inside sales teamsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key customers and distribution partnersCoordinate customer mill visits, tours, and relationship-building eventsManage claim resolution in collaboration with inside sales partnersSales Operations & CoordinationPartner with inside sales to provide accurate product pricing, availability, and manufacturing lead timesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing structures, product changes, and production schedulesTrack and document customer interactions through detailed call reportsCollaborate closely with the Hardwood Veneer Buyer and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on customer needsChannel & Market ManagementSupport and manage the distribution sales network to maximize market penetration and product availabilityIdentify and escalate large-scale or strategic opportunities (e.g., OEMs and national retailers) to the National Accounts Sales ManagerCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with operations, sales leadership, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfactionContribute to continuous improvement efforts by sharing market insights and customer feedbackMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field (preferred)3+ years of sales management experience, ideally within manufacturing or building materials3+ years of experience working within distribution sales channels
