Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Composite Technology, Palo Alto, CA Lanteris Space is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Composites Technology team in Palo Alto, CA. The role focuses on the production of high‑quality, space‑qualified composite parts and structures. You will work closely with suppliers, customers, and design engineers to ensure manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, and timely delivery of components for flight hardware.
Responsibilities Use manufacturing engineering experience in a high‑volume aerospace composite department to deliver flight hardware to multiple departments and customers.
Directly support and oversee the fabrication of precision aerospace hardware, influencing designs, improving processes, and increasing reliability.
Coordinate efficient resource management and usage plans to meet diverse departmental needs.
Engage with design engineers to review, approve part and tooling assemblies, and provide input based on Design for Manufacturing (DfM) concepts.
Provide project management of hardware build schedules, interfacing with internal and external groups.
Lead unique and advanced projects from concept to fabrication.
Research and coordinate implementation of upgraded software onto the production floor.
Update processes and designs to leverage new capabilities and technology advancements.
Maintain and update training and process documents, and support onboarding of new engineers and employees.
Evaluate and inventory new and existing tooling.
Procure flight and support materials for projects.
Provide project status updates to management.
Qualifications U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
B.S. degree in engineering or related field (M.S. preferred or equivalent experience).
4–5 years of experience in composite manufacturing engineering (experience in aerospace preferred).
Strong project management skills with experience supporting advanced assemblies.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
Ability to engage cross‑functional teams and influence design and manufacturing decisions.
Proficiency in evaluating and procuring tooling and materials for production.
Pay Base pay for this position within California: $104,000.00 – $173,000.00 annually. Pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market conditions.
