We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams on healthcare and complex building projects, including work for federal agencies.This role is ideal for a project manager who understands the rigor of public-sector delivery, thrives in highly coordinated environments, and values collaboration, technical excellence, and client service. Experience supporting federal clients, particularly the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, is highly valued but not required.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects across all phases of design and construction, with a strong emphasis on federal and institutional work. Working closely with Senior Leadership and discipline leads, this role manages scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication to ensure projects comply with applicable federal standards, agency requirements, and AE Works' quality expectations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of project delivery, from planning and design through construction administration and closeoutServe as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities having jurisdictionManage project scope, schedules, staffing plans, and fee budgets, with attention to federal contracting and documentation requirementsMonitor project financial performance, including labor utilization, consultant coordination, invoicing, and change managementCoordinate and oversee preparation, review, and quality control of construction documents in accordance with applicable federal standards and agency guidelinesLead consultant coordination across architectural, engineering, and specialty disciplinesSupport contract negotiations, consultant agreements, and client amendments in collaboration with firm leadershipOversee construction administration activities including submittal review, RFIs, site visits, and issue resolutionPrepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, progress reports, and other required project documentationMentor and guide junior staff, fostering professional growth and technical developmentSupport marketing and business development efforts, including proposal development and participation in client interviewsQUALIFICATIONS:What's Required:Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction ManagementMinimum of 8-10+ years of professional experience in architectural or building project managementExperience delivering institutional, healthcare, or complex building projects, including public-sector or federal workAbility to manage multiple projects concurrently across varying phases and levels of complexityStrong understanding of the design and construction process, including permitting, construction administration, and agency coordinationDemonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and consultant teamsExcellent communication, organizational, and leadership skillsProficiency with industry-standard software, including Revit and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)What Puts You Ahead:Experience supporting federal clients, including projects subject to federal design standards and review processesU.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project experience is a plus, but not requiredFamiliarity with federal design and construction guidelines (e.g., agency standards, review milestones, and documentation requirements)Professional licensure (Architect, Engineer, or related discipline)LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design initiatives is a plus, but not requiredExperience with project management and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project or similar platforms)Experience mentoring staff and contributing to firm-wide initiativesAE WORKS' PERKS:At AE Works, we believe in supporting each person in their professional and personal journey.
