Position Title: HR Generalist - Benefits Specialist (Health & Welfare & Retirement)Location: New York 10010 (Hybrid)Duration: 09-12 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)/No C2C ***Due to client requirements this role is only open to USC OR GC candidates*** Job SummaryThe Temporary Benefits Specialist will support the Services team by managing a high volume of employee benefit cases across both Health & Welfare and Retirement plans. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely and accurate case resolution while alleviating workload from senior team members, enabling the team to focus on process improvements and strategic initiatives.The ideal candidate will bring prior benefits experience and be able to quickly contribute in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Key ResponsibilitiesCase Management & ResolutionDay-to-day employee benefit cases across: Health & Welfare plans (medical, dental, vision, etc.)Plans (401(k), pension, Deferred Compensation Plans – basic to intermediate level)Track, and resolve cases efficiently and accuratelyComplex or sensitive issues to senior team members as needed Benefits Administration SupportSupport benefits administration activitiesInterpret benefit plans and provide accurate information to employeesMaintain complete and accurate case documentation in system tools Customer ServiceRespond to employee inquiries with professionalism and a strong customer focusCommunicate clearly regarding benefit options, processes, and next stepsEnsure timely follow-up and resolution to maintain a positive employee experience Collaboration & Team SupportPartner with team members to reduce case backlog and improve turnaround timesCollaborate with other key stakeholders in HR, legal, and payroll, to support effective handling of casesProvide support during peak periods and special initiatives Systems & Process AdherenceUtilize HRIS and case management tools (e.g., Dovetail or similar systems)Follow established processes and service standardsIdentify and communicate recurring issues or process gaps QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred5 years of hands-on experience in employee benefits required Experience must include Health & Welfare and/or Retirement plansAbility to manage benefit-related cases in a high-volume environmentAttention to detail and organizational skillsTo manage multiple priorities effectivelyIn Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn internal systems Preferred QualificationsExperience with both Health & Welfare and Retirement plansFamiliarity with 401(k), pension, or deferred compensation plansExperience in benefits administration or HR shared servicesExperience using case management systems Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsClear and professional communicationCustomer-focused mindsetAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented with a willingness to support across functions Work EnvironmentThis is a high-volume, service-oriented role requiring accuracy, responsiveness, and the ability to manage multiple benefit-related inquiries simultaneously.
