Job Title: Senior AccountantReports to: Accounting Manager of Evapco PowerLocation: Taneytown, MDResponsibilities:Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements for at least one remote locationEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and proceduresAnalyze, reconcile and review commissions monthly to sales representatives.Ensure accurate and timely month end and year end close processesManage intercompany accounts, invoicing and reportingReconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basisAssist with compiling annual US audit information Supports budgeting and forecasting activitiesSupport Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.Review contracts for assessing revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAPDevelopment of new systems i.e., Jet Stream (a job tracking tool) for Select Technologies.Various special projects and ad hoc reporting as neededWillingness to travel to various locations of the Power GroupWork through quarterly forecasting goals with the FP&A GroupBe involved in the annual budgeting processUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in AccountingCPA preferred, not requiredMinimum 3 years of experience in accountingStrong verbal and written communication skills.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Understanding and experience with ASC 606 Revenue RecognitionStrong leadership and communication abilities.Knowledge of applicable sales and use tax laws, codes and regulations, preferred.Must be highly skilled in use of MS Office, especially Excel Spreadsheets Must have an excellent work ethic, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines.Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Willingness and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organizationStrong organizational and analytical skillsPerformance MetricsTimeliness and accuracy of financial reports and reconciliations.Effectiveness of internal controls and audit results.Team performance, productivity, and development.Process improvement initiatives implemented.Work EnvironmentMay require occasional extended hours during month-end, year-end close, and audit periods.This position requires a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.We value strong interpersonal relationships and longevity of employment.We expect the Senior Accountant to take full responsibility for assigned tasks, ensure timely completion with high attention to details and hold themselves accountable for both successes and setbacks with professionalism and integrity.Evapco’s Summary of Pay & Benefits:The salary range consists of base pay and most recent profit sharing bonus amountsMedical, Vision, & Dental Insurance Employee Stock Ownership Program – we are an employee-owned companyProfit Sharing Bonus – which is paid twice per year (k)larity Plan - Voluntary Employee Retirement Savings PlanPaid HolidaysPaid VacationPaid Maternity and Paternity LeaveBereavement PayCompany Paid Basic Life Insurance equivalent to base salary, with option for Supplemental Life electionPaid Sick Leave Long Term Disability
