Software Development Engineer Mid
Job Summary Our client, a leading retail organization, is seeking a Software Development Engineer Mid to join their team! This is a 12-month contract position located in Irving, TX, requiring onsite work five days per week. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain backend integrations between enterprise platforms and third-party vendor systemsDevelop and support RESTful APIs, event-driven services, and batch/streaming data pipelinesBuild scalable integrations that support marketing technology platforms and enterprise data solutionsPartner with Product, Architecture, Data Engineering, DevOps, Security, and business teams to deliver reliable solutionsTranslate vendor API documentation and technical specifications into production-ready servicesLeverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining high-quality codeTroubleshoot complex distributed systems and ensure reliable production performanceRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)3+ years of experience building backend services and APIs using Node.js, Spring/Java, Python, or similar technologies2+ years of experience building cloud-based solutions using services such as AWS S3, IAM, serverless functions, or compute2+ years of experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases and building batch or streaming data pipelinesExperience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful and event-driven APIsStrong troubleshooting skills across distributed and multi-vendor systemsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersPreferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience2+ years of experience integrating third-party/vendor APIs and data feeds using OAuth, IAM roles, cross-account access, or similar authentication methodsExperience with Kafka, Kinesis, Auto Loader, COPY INTO, or similar streaming technologiesExperience with Databricks or lakehouse architecturesExperience with Docker and KubernetesWorking knowledge of React, Angular, or Vue.jsExperience leveraging AI-assisted development toolsKey Competencies & BehaviorsBackend Software EngineeringAPI & Integration DevelopmentCross-Functional CollaborationProblem Solving & TroubleshootingContinuous Learning & InnovationWork EnvironmentLocation: Irving, TXOnsite: 5 days per weekCompensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $45.00 and $49.00.
