Best suited for upper-level juniors or seniors with strong practical experience and expertise in their field.ᅟPOSITION OVERVIEWThe Career Readiness Workshops Specialist is a limited term, student employment opportunity within BYU-Hawaii Career Services. This position is designed for advanced students who bring prior work experience and a commitment to serving their peers. The Specialist will play a hands-on role in designing, coordinating, and leading career-readiness workshops during the summer semester, while also supporting key operational functions such as data inputting and student surveys.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESWorkshop Coordination & PlanningAssist in planning and coordinating a series of summer career-readiness workshops for BYU-Hawaii studentsHelp develop workshop schedules, materials, and logistical arrangements in collaboration with the Career Services teamCommunicate with campus stakeholders, presenters, and student participants to ensure smooth workshop deliverySet up workshop environments (physical or virtual) and ensure all materials are prepared and accessibleWorkshop Facilitation & Content DeliveryLead and co-facilitate career-readiness workshop sessions covering core competencies such as resume writing, professional communication, networking, interview preparation, and career explorationEngage students through interactive, student-centered facilitation methods that promote participation and practical skill developmentRepresent Career Services professionally and serve as a peer role model for career preparednessData Input & Assessment SupportAccurately enter workshop attendance, participation, and outcome data into Career Services tracking systemsAssist in designing, distributing, and collecting pre- and post-workshop surveys to measure student learning and program effectivenessCompile and organize data reports to support program evaluation and continuous improvement effortsMaintain organized and confidential records in accordance with department and university standardsTeam & Office SupportCollaborate with Career Services advisors and peer team members to ensure cohesive program deliveryAttend team meetings, training sessions, and planning discussions as requiredProvide general office support and assist with other Career Services initiatives as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSCurrently enrolled as a BYU-Hawaii student in good academic and conduct standingAdvanced student classification (Junior or Senior level preferred)Prior work experience in a professional, service, or leadership capacityStrong verbal communication and public speaking skillsDemonstrated ability to engage and connect with peers in group settingsOrganized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilitiesProficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or equivalent)Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamWork Experience6 Months of Directly Relevant ExperiencePhysical DemandsTypical classroom environmentBase Rate Per Hour:16.50ᅟ
