The Controller is a key member of the exciting Client Services accounting team, reporting to the Department Head. This role oversees financial operations for multiple clients and ensures strong financial controls, accurate and timely reporting to clients, and high-quality service.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Maintaining strong accounting controls, policies, and procedures.Mentoring and supporting accounting staff, ensuring high standards of accuracy, completeness, and procedural compliance.Overseeing cash management, accounts payable, and financial reporting while meeting strict reporting deadlines, including budget-to-actual analysis. Supporting annual budgeting, cash flow planning, and expense forecasting.Supporting payroll administration for international seafarers.Serving as a financial point of contact for clients and vendors, assisting with questions and resolving issues as needed.In addition to the above, the position requires:Strong leadership abilities with experience training, managing and mentoring staff.Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required. CPA and MBA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Strong understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.
