Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will support the accounting and finance functions within the organization. This individual will support the financial accounting and reporting functions for a privately held industrial organization. Responsibilities include overseeing billing activities and processing project-related change orders, assisting with financial forecasting and projections, maintaining and updating general ledger activity across multiple accounts, and supporting the month-end close process along with the overall financial reporting cycle.Job DescriptionSupport period-end close activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliationsAssist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, including consolidated statements and supporting schedulesPerform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts, research variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerPrepare bank and intercompany reconciliations across multiple entitiesSupport project accounting activities, including work-in-process analysis and revenue recognition under percentage-of-completion methodology to ensure accuracy and complianceAssist with inventory accounting processes, including reconciliations and support for physical inventory counts when applicableContribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, including monthly projections, quarterly forecasts, and annual operating plansSupport reporting requirements for a corporate parent organization and assist with related deliverables as neededParticipate in process improvement initiatives focused on strengthening controls, improving efficiency, and enhancing reporting accuracyProvide support to accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as neededMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
