Software Engineer (Java / TypeScript) - Hybrid (Dayton–Cincinnati)About QuanteluxQuantelux is a technology consultancy that helps enterprise clients design and deliver modern software. We build and ship real production systems—often in complex integration environments—and we care about clean architecture, pragmatic delivery, and strong engineering habits.The RoleWe’re hiring a Software Engineer to help build and maintain applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular (TypeScript). You’ll work with a small team, deliver features to production, and improve performance and reliability over time.We’re primarily targeting early-career engineers (0–4 years), but we’re open to hiring at a higher level (5–6+ years) for exceptional candidates. Title and compensation will align to experience and impact.What You’ll DoBuild backend services and REST APIs in Java / Spring BootBuild frontend features in Angular / TypeScriptWrite tests, debug issues, and support releasesParticipate in code reviews and collaborate with teammates and client stakeholdersContribute to improving code quality, performance, and maintainabilityWhat We’re Looking For (Must-Have)Ohio resident (Dayton/Cincinnati area preferred for occasional onsite)0–6+ years of professional software development experience (level/title aligned accordingly)Experience with Java (Spring Boot preferred) or strong OOP fundamentals with willingness to ramp quicklyExperience with Angular/TypeScript or modern frontend experience with willingness to ramp quicklyComfortable working with REST APIs and SQL / relational databasesFamiliar with Git and collaborative developmentNice to HaveCI/CD familiarity (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure)Automated testing experience (JUnit, Jest, Cypress, etc.)Experience working in consulting or client-facing teamsWork LocationRemote within OhioOptional/hybrid collaboration in Dayton/Cincinnati as needed (team/client meetings)EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.Compensation$65,000 – $105,000 for early-career (0–4 years) candidates.For exceptional 5–6+ year candidates, we may level the role and compensation accordingly.How We Interview20–30 minute intro call60 minute technical interview (practical, role-relevant)Final conversation with the team
