Driver (SPLIT SHIFT)

We are looking for a Bus Driver to transport clients in a comfortable, safe and timely manner. Driver responsibilities include: pre-trip buses, communicating with staff and clients, properly and safely load passengers in wheelchairs (not all routes have wheelchairs). Ultimately, you will help us increase customer satisfaction, making sure clients depend on us for their transportation needs. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. Looking for: -Class C drivers are encouraged to apply (start at $17.50/hr depending on experience) -Class B drivers (start at $20/hr-$25 depending on experience) There is a 90-day probationary period. After 90 days your performance will be evaluated and a possible raise. *Responsibilities* * Communicating with dispatch and office staff about cancellations, pick ups, clock-ins (if you are a park out), etc. * Providing accurate information that is requested on the manifests such as the times you pick up a passenger, odometer readings, clock in and clock out times * Pick up clients from the home at the time they’re assigned to on the manifest and transport to/from program * Assist clients with loading and unloading (wheelchairs)- some routes do not have any passengers on wheelchairs * Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed * Ensure the bus is clean BEFORE AND AFTER for all riders * Enforce 3 ft rule and mask usage * Must be okay with split shifts (e.g. 6:00a-10:00a then 1:00pm-5pm)- some routes are done without split shift. * Fuel up vehicle that you use after every route * Inform Operations Director about any services that need to be done on bus and report any issues *Skills* * Proven experience as a Driver * A valid driver’s license * A clean driving record and background test * Ability to pass a D.O.T exam (if class B) * Familiarity with GPS devices * Some knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods * Ability to load a wheelchair (you will be trained) * Availability to do split shifts (this position is mostly only split shift) * A polite and professional disposition * Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour) Job Types: Part-time, Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: * Relocation assistance Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday * Overtime Application Question(s): * Willing to do a split shift?
