Quality Control InspectorLocation: Medway, MA 02053 Pay Rate: $22.00 $23.00/hour (based on experience) Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (flexible) Duration: Approximately 3-month contract (potential for extension) Department: Quality ControlPosition SummaryThe Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet established specifications and quality standards. This role involves performing inspections, testing, and audits throughout the production process to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform first piece, in-process, and final inspections on a variety of parts and productsConduct testing to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standardsUtilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gaugesPerform surface plate and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspectionsCreate and maintain inspection plans and documentationConduct random audits during production to verify adherence to specificationsPerform receiving inspections on vendor parts, materials, and services as requiredAssist in calibration verification of inspection equipment and report discrepanciesReview inspection methods used by production teams and provide recommendationsMaintain accurate daily inspection logs and recordsTrain new employees on inspection procedures and equipment usageCollaborate with other departments to resolve quality issuesMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentFollow all company, departmental, and quality policies and proceduresCommunicate job-related issues and updates to the Quality SupervisorQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 1 year of technical training (including GD&T preferred)At least 2 years of mechanical inspection experience in a close-tolerance machining environment preferredExperience with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gaugesKnowledge of surface plate inspection and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)Familiarity with ISO standardsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and inspection specificationsBasic computer skills and experience with manufacturing software systemsPhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentAbility to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for extended periodsMust be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds occasionallyRequires good vision (close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment)Work environment includes both office and machine shop settings
