Quality Inspector
Quality InspectorThe Quality Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections on machined components, assemblies, and fabricated parts. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience with CMM equipment, precision measurement tools, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and tight-tolerance requirements.ResponsibilitiesPerform first-article, in-process, and final inspections on machined and fabricated components.Operate and program CMM equipment (PC-DMIS or similar) to verify dimensions and tolerances.Use precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, bore gauges, and optical comparators.Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T to validate part conformance.Document inspection results using internal quality systems and customer-required formats.Identify nonconformances, support root-cause analysis, and collaborate with machinists and engineers.Verify material certifications, lot traceability, and documentation accuracy.Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused inspection area.Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.Essential SkillsProficiency in CMM operation and programming (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar).Precision measurement using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and comparators.Strong machining knowledge including CNC milling/turning processes and tooling.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI).Root cause and corrective action skills.Knowledge of quality documentation such as inspection reports, NCRs, FAIRs.Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.Ability to collaborate closely with engineers and machinists.Why Work Here?Our company offers a small-company culture with big-impact work, allowing employees to directly see the impact of their contributions. Quality inspectors have a separate clean room area, and safety shoes are mandatory on the production floor.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellingham, MA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
