Comptroller

The Comptroller plays a critical leadership role in stewarding the financial health and operational integrity of Victory Church and its related ministries. This person will oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations, and provide accurate financial reporting to church leadership. This role serves at the intersection of finance, ministry stewardship, and operational excellence, helping ensure that the resources entrusted to the church are managed wisely to advance the mission.A great match for this position would be:The ideal candidate will bring both technical financial expertise and a heart for ministry.Qualifications and Characteristics:A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus ChristAgreement with Victory Church’s Statement of FaithWillingness to actively participate in the life of the church and pursue membershipBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting preferredStrong understanding of GAAP accounting principlesProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooksExperience in nonprofit, ministry, or church environments is helpful but not requiredKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Oversight:Maintain accurate financial records for Victory Church, Victory Christian Academy (VCA), and the Dream CenterEnsure compliance with church financial policies, GAAP standards, and applicable IRS regulationsReconcile bank accounts and ensure the integrity of all financial dataIncome Management:Oversee the processing and recording of all contributions, tuition, fees, and other incomeManage both physical and remote bank depositsProcess and acknowledge non-cash contributionsOversee registrations, leases, rent payments, and other income streamsRespond to questions regarding donor giving statementsExpenditure Management:Oversee accounts payable and expense reimbursement processesManage contractor payments and 1099 reportingFinancial Reporting:Provide regular financial and managerial reports to the CFOSupport budget owners with training, financial reporting, and analysisProvide financial reports to outside agencies when neededAccounting Department Leadership:Lead, train, and support the Counting TeamEnsure accounting systems and processes operate efficientlyEnsure the department is appropriately resourced for current and future needsAudit Management:Oversee preparation for the annual auditServe as the primary liaison with the external audit firmReview draft financials for accuracy and completenessKey QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting preferredStrong understanding of GAAP accounting principlesProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooksExperience in nonprofit, ministry, or church environments is helpful but not required
