Quality Control Manager

This role ensures adherence to global quality standards, drives performance against key quality metrics, and leads a team of Quality Control Inspectors to deliver consistent, high-quality results.This position plays a critical role in protecting the Huish Outdoors brand by ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and fostering a culture of quality and accountability.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and deliver site-level quality KPIs, including inspection accuracy, turnaround time, defect rates, and complianceDrive a results-oriented culture and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed performance targetsManage and prioritize QA team workload to ensure timely and accurate execution of all quality activitiesLead and oversee all inspection activities (incoming, in-process, and final) to ensure adherence to product specifications and standardsMaintain ownership of quality systems, including documentation, reporting, and Non-Conforming Material (NCMR) processesEnsure consistent execution of inspection plans and quality procedures across the siteLead implementation and sustainment of ISO 9001:2015 standards and ensure audit readinessSupport internal and external audits and drive closure of findings and corrective actionsLead root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions for quality issuesPartner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve processes, efficiency, and product qualityOversee measurement systems, including GD&T application and use of Keyence and Mitutoyo equipmentEnsure calibration and maintenance processes for inspection equipment are followedLead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Control Inspectors, including performance management and skill developmentProvide guidance on quality standards, inspection methods, and best practicesPromote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvementMaintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company procedures and regulatory requirementsMaintain job knowledge through ongoing training and industry best practicesPerform other duties as assignedRequiredJob Qualifications, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field and 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or related field (or Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience)2+ years of people management or leadership experienceExpert knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards and quality management systemsStrong understanding of GD&T principles and quality inspection methodologiesDemonstrated ability to drive results and meet performance targets in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting toolsStrong organizational and prioritization skills with high attention to detailEffective communication skills with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedbackAbility to lead in environments with evolving processes and limited standardizationAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational executionPreferredExperience with Keyence and Mitutoyo CMM / profiler systemsExperience supporting or leading ISO audits and certification processesExperience with ERP or Quality Management SystemsLean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certificationExperience in outdoor or technical product manufacturing environmentsPhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentAbility to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including in production environmentsOccasional work in tight or confined spacesRegular use of hands for handling equipment and small objectsAbility to lift and move up to 30 lbsVisual acuity including close, distance, color, and depth perceptionAbility to work on a computer for extended periodsSalary: $95000 - $120000 per year
