Details Located in a 22-bed Cardiac Medical ICU at a Level 2 Trauma Center, Level 1 STEMI Center, and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center in St. Louis, MO Patient population includes post-cardiac arrest, sepsis, respiratory failure (pneumonia, COVID, ARDS), GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, overdose, suicidal ideations, and CIWA patients Specialized equipment includes Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, and Arctic Sun EMR: Epic Patient ratio is 1:2 Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM 13-week contract with 36 or 48 hours per week Every other weekend required No on-call requirements May float to stepdown units based on staffing needs Requirements Active RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for Missouri licensure or hold a current MO or compact state RN license Valid U.S. Social Security Number required Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS Preferred certification: TNCC Minimum 3 years of inpatient Cardiac Medical ICU experience required Experience recovering open-heart surgical patients directly from the OR (CVI) required No gaps in employment of 90 days within the past 12 months Additional Information Preferred experience includes medical ICU patients with a cardiac emphasis, including arrhythmias, STEMI, and post-arrest care Night shift orientation takes place on day shift — candidates must be available the full orientation week Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted Black scrubs required; hats, non-facility jackets/sweatshirts, and earbuds are not permitted RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced pay rate Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or reassignment outside the 50-mile radius is required American Traveler Job ID P-686125.
