We partner with clients to design and build software that solves real business problems, and our data team sits at the core of that work.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer / DBA to design, build, and maintain the database systems that power our applications and client solutions. This role blends hands-on development with database administration: you'll architect schemas, tune performance, translate business needs into sound data models, and ensure our data stays accurate and reliable through conversions and fixes. You'll work closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders, and your judgment will help set the standard for data quality across our projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain SQL Server database schemas, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and indexes.Diagnose and resolve query performance issues through execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and query optimization.Translate business requirements into normalized, scalable, and well-documented data models.Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback on SQL and database design.Analyze data for conversions, migrations, and data fixes, ensuring accuracy and integrity throughout.Collaborate with application developers and architects to ensure database designs align with application needs.Maintain database security, backups, and recovery processes, and monitor database health and capacity.Document data models, processes, and standards for the team.Required Qualifications8+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer, DBA, or combined role, primarily with Microsoft SQL Server.Expert-level T-SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.Demonstrated experience with query performance tuning, execution plan analysis, and indexing strategy.Strong data modeling skills and a solid understanding of normalization and relational design principles.Experience with data conversions, ETL processes, and data cleanup or remediation work.Familiarity with database administration tasks: backups, restores, security, and monitoring.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to data accuracy.Effective communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and business audiences.Preferred QualificationsExperience with SSIS, SSRS, or comparable ETL/reporting tools.Exposure to cloud database platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).Familiarity with source control (Git) and CI/CD practices for database changes.Experience working in an Agile development environment.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits.PTO, holidaysMatching 401KHealth/Dental/Vision Insurance
