Associate System Matter Expert

As an Information Technology Associate (ITA), you will provide essential support for the FI$Cal system, a statewide financial platform used by more than 150 California departments to conduct their daily operations. In this role, you will work independently and collaboratively to ensure both the technology and associated business processes function efficiently and reliably. The ITA is a key contributor to system stability, providing hands-on assistance when issues arise. Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical problems, supporting end users, and ensuring any system disruptions are resolved promptly. While the primary focus is on business and technical operations, you may assist with additional tasks as needed. Overall, this role blends technical expertise with business process knowledge to support a mission-critical system used daily across numerous state departments. Please note that to be list appointed for placement in the Information Technology Associate classification, you must take and pass the examination . Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. Working Conditions At FI$Cal, we currently offer a remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework up to three days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment.
